I like a gentle, warm, and sincere man—most women would want a man like this. Personality is the most important part of any relationship. Think about it—if he’s nice to everyone, how much nicer will he be to his loved one?
I don’t understand why Mari loves him so much, even though he keeps pushing her away. I mean:
1. He doesn’t seem to love her, he cares about his pride more.
2. He does not have a good personality.
3. He’s not that attractive.
4. He doesn’t have a lot of money
This kind of man is very difficult for a boyfriend and a husband. I really hate Chulsu character, and I don’t understand him. Mari shows and tells how much she loves him. He needs to say the same to her, he needs to say it more. He’s such a strange man. I don’t understand why Mari still holds onto him. If it was me, I’d have left him a long time ago.
It tires me to watch Mari in this situation—it makes her look weak and even kind of stupid. The entire thing is almost abusive and anti-feministic!

I totally agree with you. I think in our real life almost no woman would like and love a man as Chulsoo. For most of the women, he is an extremely terrible man, selfish/weak/escapable/incapable, and the most important thing is, he lacks the courage and responsibility to love. It seems he always thinks everyone is betraying him. I read a lot of chinese critics written by male audiences. Most of them characterise Chulsoo as a self-righteous megalomania. They can hardly imagine how Mari can fall in love with such a person so deeply. Many male audiences have the opinion that Chulsoo do not even have the basic requirements for a good man.

First , I love yeom couple for a while....I almost think their chemistry is the best! But after Ep.14 til 18...I found I got lost with CS....Why CS be like that...why he changed? Or just confused if he really love MR more than his pride??? I tried to find what his reason..but after watching Ep.18, I can say I can't stand him anymore....I'm really mad at him now.....I feel so sad for MR why she got to love him too much ??

Even though I still very much like to watch SL I do agree with these comments about Chul Soo. I have watched it up to ep. 16 and I cannot understand why he is so rude towards Lee Mari and pushes her away. He should be happy that such a wonderful woman really loves him -- she has proven that her love is not fake.

I fully agree that Chulsoo is such a selfish man and am sorry for Mari, who is increditably fallen in love and keep on showing how much she loves him. Mari always is the one who shows iniatiation of love such as calling Chulsoo, waiting for him, cooking for him and........ He is too eagle and never consider the feeling of Mari. How many times he yielded to Mari, turning down her request, ignoring her tears......

I wonder if YJT by now is getting hate mails from the SL's fans hahaha..YJT performance in episode 18 was excellent though..very gut wrenching but superb.
I was mad at Chulsoo yesterday but not so much anymore. I actually feel sorry for him for not knowing how to love. How his terrible childhood has affected him ability to love and be loved. I like one comment posted by Jusash in Soompi forum. So I am quoting his interpretation as follows:.

None of the men deserves Mari. What they've done nothing except hurting her. Not even JWJ who thinks that his relationship with MR is real and scolds her like she is his fiancee. She hasn't accepted his proposal! Giving her hard time with the contract, saying that her love for CS is not real. He is like a serpent, very deceitful. Poor mari. All the men in her life yell at her, want to control her, and deceive her. The only who is somewhat decent is actually her first love. Yes, he accepted bribed money from Tseo but he was threatened and tortured. No normal man can endure the physically abuse or should endure even for love. so I understand why he left her. He actually has the most justified excuse for breaking up with MR.

Definitely vote for a happy ending including a wedding, Mari wearing the 4th wedding dress that was not worn in the photoshoot session. I'm really sad that the drama is almost over. I always look forward on Wednesdays & Thursdays. I guess I just have to rewatch the drama in Vikii or mysoju.com. Congratulations to the newly wed, Mari & Chulsoo.

As the PD has said at the early stage...around ep.6-7 (??), this is an adult's fairydale...that means, he also did not trust this will happen in real life...Me too!!
True love never fails, but I am quite doubtful the love between CS and Mari is "true love" -- my definition is that it is a kind of love that will not hurt...your loved one is always being cared and trusted, no matter what circumstances.
If not, then it is not a "true love"....and Mari's sacrifice was not to the right person and right timing. Anyway, it is a fairydale, that means, evn not the right person or right timing...there is still a happy ending....do not bother too much..because I trust in reality, if they are together, they will not have a happy life together...Mari has to suffer to be with such a man of strong personality, problems will always arise if Mari do not follow him....
BTW, if CEO really loves and cares, and have no fake or bad intention...he is the kind that will treasure Mari, give her freedom to have her own career or happy family if she likes and present a trustworthy relationship as an all-rounder...Just laughters and not always tearful and heartbroken...will be true love in real life -- which is a lifelong relationship !!!

Thanks Bolt for your analysis of CS's personality...I understand that it is always his inferior perplex that influences his life and personality...because I think love is tender and not hurting your loved ones....no yelling and scolding like CS did to Mari... and I know it is really hard to be a star's lover...that was why it is treated as an adult's fairytale.
I don't like this scriptwriter shaping Lee Mari in love with CS with such sufferings and to have a car accident finally...(see her so much enjoying her playing football)..well in reality, I don't think a star will be in love with a person like CS in the ending...since it is only a fairytale, I feel better...let us enjoy the last 2 episodes...!!!

Haha...still it is the scriptwriter's fault....shaping Lee Mari so dumb, stubborn yet persistent in her love to CS. That was why she was given the happy ending after so much sufferings in this love story. Perhaps Ms. Scriptwriter had listened to the "objections" from fans and turned CS to a tender lover/husband at the last episode... I can see some examples in reality like CS & Mari's style and hope the endings are as good as in SL.
