A drama "Star's Lover" of SBS which broadcast on Wednesday and Thursday will broadcast at the whole region in Japan from April.
Now, "Star's Lover" broadcasting at SBS is a melodrama starring Choi Ji Woo who is Hanryu star and it has received Asia's fans attention from before broadcast.
A party concerned in Olivenine which is a production company of "Star's Lover" explained "It will broadcast by WOWOW of a satellite channel in Japan from April in this year, and is scheduled to air at the whole region in Japan by KNTV of satellite cable channel from May or June. A television station broadcast by free channel was not decided concretely yet, but aim to broadcast it about the second half of this year."
"Star's Lover" was invested by Dentsu which is a leading media enterprise in Japan, and it undertook collaboration, then they turned to broadcast in Japan. Dentsu invested 2.5 billion won to 6 billion won which is the "Star's Lover" production cost and had cooperated with Olivenine for broadcast in Japan from before broadcast of the drama.
Moreover, a great interest in "Jiwoo hime" Choi Ji Woo who got a lot of Japanese fans by "Winter Love Song" and "Stair To Heaven" and so on had a major impact on
the broadcast of "Star's Lover" in Japan.
Some party concerned in drama explained " Choi Ji Woo who played top star and Yoo Ji Tae's performance is a brilliant, and overall, the formation take shape in the drama. Therefore it is expected to win popularity of Japanese fans".

I'm pretty sure SL will be more successful in Japan because they love Ji Woo hime. I remember Jiwoo's movie "Now & Forever" did real great in Japan. It's 5th on the Japanese international movie board. The Japanese & international fans support Ji Woo always. Ji Woo fighting.... Star's Lover fighting......

Choi Ji Woo and Yoo Ji Tae are really excellent together in this drama. I wish them great success, especially in Japan but also in Korea. Ji Woo is as great as ever -- I can just never find anything to criticize in her performance. I am sure she works very hard -- and it seems to me she also has such a lovely nature that I don't understand how some people find fault with her. I am very happy that so many people in Japan -- my wife's home country -- appreciate her so much, and that this has contributed to a better understanding between Koreans and Japanese.

Star Lover is such a romantic and nice TV love drama that has attracted a lot of foreign viewers and not just JW fans. With its beautiful sceneries, romantic love story, good PD, actors and actresses and photography, I am sure it will have good viewing rates in Japan, and then in other areas as well.

I agree. CJW and YJT are so brilliant in this drama. Their acting is so great. I know CJW through Winter Sonata and I love her in that drama and SL. She has shown that she is a really talented actress who can connect her character to the audience and win their hearts. I have never seen any movies with YJT but after this drama I believe he will be regarded as one of the best actors in Korea.

I'm pretty sure Star's Lover will be very successful in Japan. After all, Ji Woo has lots of fans in Japan. Remember, they started a fan club in Japan last year called "Lily". Also, Ji Woo was chosen to be the most popular S. Korean actress in Japan in their last poll in 2008. I hope Ji Woo & Ji Tae promote Star's Lover & go to Japan. Ji Tae will surely soar in popularity in Japan because of his collaboration with our Princess. Good luck to both of them. STAR'S LOVER FIGHTING......

P. S. All of us fans of Star's Lover (check Celebrity's Sweetheart/Star's Lover soompi) want a happy ending. We are begging the PD & script writer not to disappoint us. Mari & Chulsoo must end up together, happily married with children. Thanks, thanks, thanks. Please inform the PD & scriptwriter.
