KBS wishes to extend the drama one more week, but actors say it’s not possible due to their tight schedule
‘Extend it’ vs ‘We can’t do that’
The broadcast people and the actors are having a debate over whether they should extend the episodes of the popular drama <Winter Love Song>.
However, when KBS asked Bae YongJun and Choi JiWoo, the stars of KBS 2TV Miniseries <Winter Love Song>, they commented that it was ‘absolutely not possible’.
Although <Winter Love Song> is to end with its 20th episode on the 19th this month, KBS wants to extend the drama one more week, to broadcast their upcoming miniseries <Sunshine Hunt> on time. They want to end the drama at episode 21, then broadcast <Winter Love Song> making film with NG shots as well.
But Bae YongJun and Choi JiWoo and other major actors already have plans after the last day of filming. They are going to shoot CF and do other works that they have put off because of <Winter Love Song>. Especially, Bae YongJun has to shoot his CF in Australia on the 20th, and this situation goes same for JiWoo.
On the 6th during filming, Bae YongJun was asked by director Yun SukHo, “What do you think of doing one more episode?” Bae YongJun answered courteously, “When I think about you, director, I want to help out. However, I have already scheduled for other works, and if I fail to show up, my management company will loose millions of dollars.” He showed that such idea was difficult and stated his situation firmly.
KBS suggested, “If the main characters’ schedules are too difficult to control, let’s try filming an extra episode before the 19th.” But this time, director Yun SukHo disapproved of the idea, saying, “I can’t do it that way.” He doesn’t want the quality of the drama to be ruined by rushing.
Despite all that, KBS still wants to extend the drama by using extra filming materials that never broadcasted. Of course, that would mean they have to pay the actors for one more episode of work.
