South Korean actress Choi Ji‐woo has found that her tastes in men have changed as
she has aged, she told reporters in Tokyo on Oct. 15.
"When I was young, I was attracted to strong, tough men, but as I get older,
I find myself more attracted to gentle, open‐minded guys," the 32‐year‐old actress said.
Choi was in Tokyo to promote "Air City," her first TV role in four years.
"I was really careful about what sort of show I would appear in.
And thinking about it took me four years," she said.
"Air City" sees Choi playing the head of the operations section at Incheon International Airport,
the main gateway to Seoul. Her character has a feisty relationship with a secret agent
with whom she works to maintain safety at the airport. They eventually fall in love.
"Until now, most people have had an image of me playing melodramatic roles,
but I really wanted to play an independent woman who has plenty of talents I don't have,"
Choi told reporters.
Choi became a huge star in Japan following the screening of "Winter Sonata," a TV drama
in which she appeared with Bae Yong‐joon.
The success of the show sparked the Korean Wave that swept across Japan and
made many Korean actors stars in this country, too.

한국여배우 최지우가 10월15일 도쿄에서 취재진에게 나이를 먹어서 좋아하는 남성 타입이
바뀌었다고 밝혔다.
"어렸을 때는 강하고 터프한 남성에 끌렸지만 나이를 드니까 부드럽고 포용력이 있는 남성에
더 끌리는 것 같다" 라고 32새의 여배우는 말했다.
최지우는 4년만의 TV드라마 에어시티 홍보를 도쿄에서 진행했다.
"어떤 작품에 출연할까 정말 신중하게 고민했습니다.그리고 그거를 생각하면 4년 걸렸습니다"
에어시티에서 최지우는 서울의 주요한 현관구인 인천국제공항 운영본부실장을 연기한다.
약할은 공항에서 안전을 지킬 위해 일하는 정보원과 싸우는 사이이지만 마지막에는 사랑에 빠지다.
"지금까지 많은 분들이 나에게 메로드라마 이미지를 갖고 있지만 나는 자신이 갖고 있지 않은 많은
재능을 갖는 자립한 여성을 연기해 보고 싶었다"라고 최지우는 기자들에게 전했다.
최지우는 배용준과 출연했던 TV드라마 "겨울연가" 방송후 일본에서 대스타가 됐다.
또 그 작품은 일본중에서 대유행해서 많은 한국배우들을 스타로 올리고 한류붐의 시작이 됐다.
