It's kinda odd as I watched SBS STH vod and fansub STH long time ago..but I still watch TVB cantonese subbed just because I like this drama, KTH is pretty and listen to Ave Maria whenever Dramatic moments arise.
BUT....Ave Maria is cut except during the credit roll, but even that is vocal-less.
Some fans suggest it's copyright issue and all reference to this song is not included in all export version of this drama...Any1 can confirm? I doubt TVB would go the extra mileage to remove this sound in every episode as it requires some extra man-hours...

You've heard correct, Akao. Infact, many Korean dramas are that way. Most Korean dramas, when using copyrighted music, only purchase the license required to use on their drama, not for its sales overseas. So, when for example Japan buys STH, they have to purchase the license to Ave Maria just as the original Korean STH did prior to selling it to Japan.

Hmm...I cannot concur. As copyright has a timelimit of, say 100 years, so all classical music and shakespeare literature arent protected by copyright now.
So, when was Ave Maria composed? Is it fairly recent work and still protected by copyright law?
and it is quite boring to watch STH now as many scenes are cut and dramatic moments w/o the song is plain and boring...the intense is just not there.
