Lee, InHang to direct ‘Ageing Youth’, First Korean Actor Lead Role in Foreign Film
Choi, JiWoo will dive into Hong Kong film market.
Choi, JiWoo, with 300 million won guarantee from the movie ‘Ageing Youth’, signed the contract on 4th to play the leading role.
This is the first time that a Korean actor has been cast as the lead role in any foreign films. Choi, JiWoo will be in 92 scenes of 120, and she will also narrate throughout the movie, carrying the story.
The reason Choi, JiWoo got to do this Hong Kong film was because of a famous Hong Kong producer Catherine Hoon and her influence.
Catherine Hoon, who is also a manager of Leslie Cheng, noted she was influenced by Leslie Cheng’s recommendation on Choi, JiWoo, who watched her drama ‘Winter Love Song’.
In ‘Ageing Youth’, Choi, JiWoo plays a college professor Jun, who has a Chinese father and Korean mother. Majored in astronomy, she falls in a sad love with her student ‘K’, who is five years younger than her.
Choi, JiWoo will have to act in Korean, Chinese, and English. From three, Chinese portion was decided to be dubbed. The direction will be done by ‘The Black Mask’ director Lee, InHang. Debuted with the film ‘Princess D’, singer and movie star Edissen Chen will play the opposite role ‘K’.
Choi, JiWoo will leave for Hong Kong on the 8th. Crank-up is set towards end of October.
