I just finished watching the Air City (AC) series and I enjoyed it so much that I am desperately hoping that the show will come back next season.  I thought AC showed a good balance between action, romance (I would like to see a little bit more of), comedy, and friendship.   All of the main cast members performed exceptionally well, especially, our JiWoo, of course.  It was refreshing to see her playing a role that is vastly different than her other previous roles, she portrayed a character that is firm but gentle at times.  I will tell you why I think her acting was outstanding.  An hour after I finished watching Winter Sonata (WS) for the second time, I started watching AC.  Considering the short gap between the two movies, I couldn’t even believe that the two such diverse roles were actually played by the same actress.   Not even for a second was I reminded of Yu Jin while watching AC nor was I making a link to her acting in WS.  Sure, my emotions weren’t provoked like when I was watching Stairway to Heaven, but can I appreciate a good movie without me shedding a tear in every episode? Ha…ha… The production was a good quality for a TV series, they used a real set instead of a studio.  So, I don’t really understand why the series received low ratings.  I have to disagree with Alvin but completely agree with Nordelm (referring to the comment in “(new Aircity Interview VOD (translation)”) that perhaps AC was too advance for the South Korean audience that is used to a romantic drama that focuses only on one or two simple characters (I am not trying to offend anyone here).  Has the movie like AC been done before in South Korea?

AC actually reminds me a lot of typical American TV drama, such as, 24 or CSI or Grey’s Anatomy, etc where every episode involves a short case or incident that is resolved at the end of each episode.  The last episode for the season is usually ended with more questions to answer, sort of like leaving you hanging, so you are looking forward to the next season.  Some people complained abt the ending because Dokyung didn’t end up marrying Ji Sung, or what happened to the sick doctor, etc.  However, I don’t mind the ending because it’s a typical ending for a seasonal TV drama and I am so looking forward to the next season.   Is seasonal TV drama a new concept to South Korean audience?   I know that AC was originally intended to be a seasonal TV drama, does anyone know if that is still the case? Ji Woo Ssi, if you are reading this, please..please consider making the second season of AC.  I love the show so much and it would crush my heart if you don’t come back next season.  It’s an awesome show.  Air City aja aja fighting!!
I wish to see more Asian drama playing in the U.S. television but I guess it’s currently pretty difficult to penetrate the U.S market and compete with Hollywood films.      ,
