チェ・ジウはこの日、 許南植（ホ・ナムシク）釜山市長から記念の盾を受け取り、釜山中区南浦洞で開催される釜山総合観光案内所のオープンイベントにも参加する予定だ。
釜山市の関係者は「今後、チェ・ジウさんのイメージとキャラクターを活用して釜山を広報し、サイン入りの記念はがきやブロマイドなど、さまざまな観光記念品も作る予定」と語った。

特にチェ・ジウ、ユ・ジテが主役を演じたSBS水木ドラマ『スターの恋人』で、劇中二人の主人公の故郷と設定された二妓台（南区）をはじめ、海雲台海水浴場、冬柏島、Nurimaru APEC House など釜山の美しい風景が映像で紹介されて、チェ・ジウが劇中恋人のユ・ジテとともにPIFF広場でホットクとトッポッキを食べたシーンが放映された後、映画舞台などを訪れる日本観光客が従来より70%以上増加するなど、新しい観光名所に急浮上している。
チェ・ジウは9月29日東京ドームで約5万人が殺到した中で開かれたアニメーション冬のソナタの放送記念イベント行事に出席、韓流スターとしての健在さを誇示するなど、2009年観光の日記念式で、大統領賞を受賞した。またコ・ヒョンジョン、イ・ミスクらトップ女優5人と出演し、10日公開を控えた映画『女優たち』が、2010年ベルリン映画祭に招請作に決定するなど、新しい全盛期を迎えている。
